Biography

As a senior (2019-20)

• Finished his collegiate career by serving as a tri-captain and posting 13 points on six points and seven assists in 29 games.
• Named one of three finalists for ECAC Hockey Best Defensive Forward.
• Was a plus-16 overall for the season and a plus-15 in ECAC Hockey play, which ranked first in the league among forwards.
• Only regular player in the nation to not be on the ice for a single even-strength goal against in league games.
• Opened scoring in team's 3-1 victory Dec. 6 at Harvard in a match-up of the last two undefeated teams in the country.
• Scored game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over Dartmouth at home on Jan. 24. 

As a junior (2018-19)

• Posted 14 points on six goals and eight assists in 27 games.
• Accrued 12 of his points in his final 16 games before suffering a season-ending injury in the ECAC Hockey Championship game against Clarkson.
• Scored twice Feb. 22 vs. Rensselaer for fourth career multiple-goal game.
• Closed scoring in team's 4-2 victory over Union in Game 3 of an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series.

As a sophomore (2017-18)

• Ranked fifth on the team with six goals, adding 11 assists for 17 points over 28 games.
• Scored twice in season debut, a 5-1 win Oct. 27 against Alabama-Huntsville. 
• Factored into all goals in team's dramatic rally for a 3-2 victory over Harvard on Nov. 11, scoring tying goal before assisting on Alec McCrea's winner with 2.3 seconds remaining.
• Had primary assist on each of Kyle Betts' three goals Dec. 30 vs. Canisius.
• Recorded four points in the two regular-season games against Princeton, including a goal Jan. 5 at Lynah Rink.
• Final goal came in Game 1 rout of Quinnipiac in an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series; his third collegiate postseason goal.

As a freshman (2016-17)

• Led his class with six goals, adding three assists for nine points over 30 games.
• Highlight-reel pass led to first collegiate point, pulling the puck through his own skates on the rush before backhanding a pass to Eric Freschi for the winning goal Nov. 29 at Colgate.
• Had unique distinction of scoring first three collegiate goals in the form of a hat trick — in a span of less than 10 minutes, no less.
• All three goals Jan. 13 at Princeton came in the first period, marking the first time a Cornell freshman notched a hat trick since current NHLer Matt Moulson on Feb. 7, 2003.
• Just one of two members of the team to score twice in the playoffs, opening the scoring in a Game 3 victory against Clarkson in the ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinals before tallying the team's lone goal in the finals against Harvard.  

Prior to Cornell

• Posted 60 points in 46 games on 25 goals and 35 assists with Alberta Junior Hockey League's Brooks Bandits during 2015-16 season.
• Helped Brooks win the Gas Drive Cup, the Alberta Junior Hockey League's championship.
• Tied for third on the Bandits in overall scoring and led squad in points per game (1.30).
• Named team's most valuable player and to AJHL South Division All-League Team.
• Earned a spot on the all-tournament team at the Western Canada Cup by being named event's top forward.
• Named team's unsung hero for 2014-15 season.
• Helped Caledonia Corvairs to Greater Ontario Junior Hockey title during the 2013-14 season.

Personal

• Jeffrey Turner Malott is the son of Murray and Anne Malott, and he has two sisters and one brother.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
