Biography
As a junior (2020-21)
• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Did not appear in any regular-season games, but made nine saves without surrendering a goal in the third period of an Oct. 20 exhibition against Nipissing.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Did not appear in any regular-season games, but stopped all 14 shots he saw in 40 minutes of action in exhibition games against Laurentian and Guelph.
Prior to Cornell
• Split the 2017-18 season between the Whitby Fury and Markham Royals of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, posting a 2.38 goals against average and .937 save percentage in the playoffs with the latter.
• Competed with Team OJHL in the 2017 Eastern Canada Cup Challenge, and also played in the 2016-17 Canadian Junior Hockey League Top Prospects Game.
• Named Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League Most Valuable Player in 2016-17 after helping lead the Powassan VooDoos to the league championship.
• A NOJHL first-team all-star in 2016-17 and led the league with a 2.16 goals against average.
• Class valedictorian at John Cabot Catholic Secondary School, graduating as an Ontario Scholar.

• Lorne Nathaniel James McDonald is the son of Lorne and Laura McDonald.
• Enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
