As a junior (2020-21)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a sophomore (2019-20)

• Scored two goals in first two appearances of the season, dressing for a total of five games.
• Notched second goal of the team's 6-2 victory on Nov. 2 at Michigan State.
• Reeled in Matt Cairns' pass and capped a breakaway with a backhand shot Nov. 16 at St. Lawrence.

As a freshman (2018-19)

• Worked his way into the lineup for 35 games, which was second-most among the team's newcomers.
• Scored team's lone goal Nov. 24 vs. Harvard in The Frozen Apple, marking the third straight year a player from Cornell scored his first collegiate goal at Madison Square Garden.
• Recorded first collegiate assist in regular-season finale March 2 at Clarkson.

Prior to Cornell

• Led Alberta Junior Hockey League's Whitecourt Wolverines with 51 points during 2017-18 season on 22 goals and 29 assists in 60 games, serving as an alternate captain.
• Split 2016-17 between Whitecourt and Camrose Kodiaks, scoring 30 goals over 57 games.
• Came up through the Calgary Royals midget program. 
• Also competed in badminton for four years at Henry Wise Wood HS, once reaching the Calgary City finals.
• Won Josh Wozny Scholarship.

Prior to Cornell

• Liam John Motley is the son of Lorne and Suzanne Motley, and he has one brother and one sister.
• Enrolled in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
