Biography
As a Junior (2019-20)
• Saw action in 31 games.
• Registered 17 points with two goals and 15 assists.
• Ranked fourth on the team with 37 blocks.
• Completed three multipoint games.
• Notched a career-high three assists against Harvard (1/18).
• Finished the season ranked 36th among all defenders, eighth among junior defenders, with 0.55 points per game.
• Currently sits 10th with 0.97 blocks per game.
As a Sophomore (2018-19)
• Appeared in all 36 games.
• Finished the season with 12 points on four goals and eight assists.
• Had two three-game point streaks throughout the course of the season.
• Notched a career-high two goals against Robert Morris (Nov. 23).
• Fourth on the team in blocked shots with 32.
As a Freshman (2017-18)
• Played in 25 games, recording eight points to rank second amongst her freshman classmates and third amongst her fellow defensemen.
• Scored three goals with her first coming at Brown on a power play (Nov. 17).
• Also scored against Clarkson (Jan. 26) to force overtime and at home versus the Bears (Feb. 10).
• Registered one multiple-point game against Syracuse (Feb. 6) with two assists.
• Totaled 20 blocks and ended with the team’s fourth best plus/minus rating (+13).
Prior to Cornell
• Participating in the Team Canada National Women's Under-18 Team selection camp in August 2017.
• Competed with Team Canada at an International Ice Hockey Federation U18 series against the United States in 2015-16 in Finland and 2016-17 in Canada.
• Won a provincial and regional championship with her midget AAA team, the Saskatoon Stars, in 2015 and 2016.
• Won rookie of the year in 2015, honored as the top defenseman in 2016 and 2017, and named MVP in 2017.
• Helped the Stars to a Mac’s International Tournament Championship in 2015, earning the Best Plus Minus Award.
• Honored as the Scholastic Player of the Year of the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League in 2017.
Personal
• Willow CJ Slobodzian is the daughter of Gregory and Corinne Slobodzian, and she has one older brother and two younger sisters.
• Her grandfather, Dale Dirks, played for Canada's national baseball team from 1988-93.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
