As a sophomore (2019)

• Started 13 games either at second base or as designated hitter and was one of team's primary bats before missing balance of season due to injury.
• Was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base March 9 at Navy against starting pitcher Noah Song (national leader in wins and strikeouts as of May 14, 2019).
 

As a freshman (2018)

• Batted .256 with two home runs, seven RBI and a stolen base in 16 games.
• Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on May 7 after hitting pinch-hit grand slam with one out in the ninth inning to tie game two days prior at Brown.
• First collegiate home run came March 28 in non-league victory at Penn State.
• Started nine games at shortstop and once as designated hitter.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Helped San Gabriel Valley Arsenal club team will the 2016 Under Armour West Coast Championship.
• Garnered 2016 Perfect Game All-American Honorable Mention.
• Won all-league honors and all-San Gabriel Valley All-Star honors with Damien HS n both 2016 and 2017.
• Helped team win league championship and advance to the California Southern Section quarterfinals in 2016.
• Was named team's defensive player of the year in 2016.
• Named MVP of 2017 Senior San Gabriel All-Star Game.
 

Personal

• Kalani Boy Matton is the son of Mark and Cleo Matton, and he has three younger brothers and one younger sister.
• He has two cousins who played women's basketball at Connecticut from 2000-05, and another cousin who competes in polo at the University of St. Andrews.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
