As a freshman (2021-22)
• Worked his way into lineup for 23 games, recording nine points and a plus-5 rating.
• Scored first collegiate goal Jan. 1 at Arizona State, kicking off a four-game scoring streak.
Prior to Cornell
• Selected by the Dallas Stars in the third round with the 79th pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
• Racked up 120 points on 51 goals and 69 assists in 68 games at St. Andrew's College after coming up through the Mississauga Senators and Toronto Red Wings AAA programs.
• With the 2020-21 CISAA season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, migrated from St. Andrew's to the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League, accruing 28 points in 18 games.
• Ranked 150th among North American skaters eligible for the 2021 draft by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau.
• Also competed regularly in lacrosse, serving as captain of Team Ontario squad that captured three national championships.

• Justin Charles Ertel is the son of Tyler and Jennifer Ertel, and he has two brothers.
