Biography
As a junior (2020)
• Started all five games on the Big Red defense in a shortened season due to COVID-19.
• Ranked fourth on the team in caused turnovers (4).
• Forced a season-best two caused turnovers against Towson on Feb. 21.
• Registered first-career assist on the game-winning goal in Cornell’s thrilling victory over then-No. 2 Penn State on March 8.
• Corralled a season-high two ground balls on three occasions against UAlbany, High Point, and Ohio State.
• Finished the season with eight ground balls, four caused turnovers, one assist, and one point.
As a sophomore (2019)
• Started all 15 games on the Big Red’s defense as a sophomore.
• Ranked third on the team with 19 caused turnovers, a mark good for 19th all-time in Cornell history for a single-season.
• Registered a career-high four caused turnovers vs. Penn State.
• Picked up 26 ground balls on the year.
• Had a season-high four ground balls vs. the Nittany Lions.
As a freshman (2018)
• Had the most starts of any rookie during the season.
• Played in all 18 games with 16 starts on the close defense.
• Led the team with 20 caused turnovers.
• Posted a season-high three caused turnovers vs. Brown in the Ivy League semifinal game.
• Picked up 11 ground balls on the year.
• Had a season-high three ground balls vs. Binghamton.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned two varsity letters in lacrosse at Chaminade High School.
• Recipient of the 1st Lt. Ronald D. Winchester Award, given to the most valuable member of the varsity lacrosse team.
• Two-time NSCHSAA All-League (2016, 2017)
• Helped Chaminade to the 2017 NSCHSAA AAA League Championship.
• Named to the Newsday All-Long Island Lacrosse second team, as well as a Newsday Top 100 boys lacrosse player as a senior.
• Named to the 2016 Under Armour Long Island Highlight Team
• Also earned two varsity letters in football.
• Won the 2016 Catholic High School Football League All-League Offense Award.
• Selected to play in the 2016 CHSFL Senior Bowl Game (City vs Long Island).
Personal
• Dominic Gianni Doria is the son of Franco and Sandra Doria and he has two sisters.
• His cousin, Nico Doria, plays baseball for Fordham University.
• Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
