Biography
At Cornell
Scott was one of only four players to appear in every game on the season, and has appeared in all 101 of Cornell's contests since arriving in Ithaca. He led the team in scoring as a junior, tallying 25 points (4g, 21a). Two of his goals came on the Cornell power play, as he notched extra-man goals at Yale on Nov. 4 and Quinnipiac on Nov. 18. In the game at Yale, he tallied his third career three-point game, adding in a pair of assists. Scott had only three two-game spans without recording a point on the year, and had a streak of nine games with at least one point from Nov. 3 at Brown to Dec. 2 against Union. Scott tied with Byron Bitz for the second-highest point total on the team as a sophomore, scoring 28 points (6g, 22a). He appeared in every game that season, collecting at least one point in 21 contests, and had a string of five straight matches with a point, running from Jan. 20 against St. Lawrence and ending with a two-assist performance on Feb. 3 against Colgate. As a freshman in 2004-05, he was tied for second on the team with 19 assists and fourth in points with 24. He played in every game in 2004-05, but he did not waste any time getting on the scoresheet. Scott tallied an assist in his debut against Army on Oct. 29. Three games later, he followed that with his first career multiple-point game, distributing two assists against Brown on Nov. 6. He scored three times on the power play, including the game winner on Jan. 22 against Vermont. Without question, though, his biggest moment came when he touched off a wild celebration at Lynah Rink with the decisive goal at the 12:00 mark of overtime, giving Cornell a series sweep of Clarkson in the ECACHL quarterfinal series. He opened the ECACHL semifinal win over Vermont much the same way, scoring the eventual game winner on the power play in the Big Red's 3-0 victory. He added an assist in the championship win over Harvard the next night.
Before Cornell
Scott was a member of a team that won the bantam national championship in 2000. In 2003-04, he was the captain of the Chicago Steel of the USHL. He was named team MVP and selected to the USHL all-star team. Scott also earned the USHL Curt Hammer Award.
Personal
