 At Cornell: Zell made his first year as the team’s starting place-kicker count, ranking 34th nationally with his nine field goals and making all 22 of his extra points. Zell connected on a career-best three field goals against both Yale and No. 23 Albany. Included was a game-winning kick with 6:22 left in the contest against the Great Danes. The team’s leading scorer with 49 points, Zell booted a career-long 45-yarder against Albany, helping him to the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week award. Zell had seen action in two varsity contests in each of his first two seasons, making 2-of-3 extra-points and missing his only field goal try as a freshman. Zell is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.

At Bishop Verot: Zell lettered for two years as a member of the Bishop Verot football team. As a kicker, he was named the team’s special teams player of the year and was an all-area honorable mention. He was also named Southwest Florida Rotary South Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Zell was a four-time letter winner on the soccer team, earning first team all-state honors as a senior.

Personal: Peter Douglas Zell is the son of Douglas and E. Susan Zell and has an older brother and sister.
