Kelly Hansen Career Stats
At Cornell
Sophomore (2009): Hansen overcame an early-season injury to play in 12 matches, including 11 outings against Ivy League opponents. Despite her limited role, she still put up impressive numbers, averaging 1.63 kills per set while hitting .152. Hansen also posted 25 blocks on the season to rank second on the team with 0.71 blocks per set. She finished the year with 57 kills, 17 assists, 14 digs and two service aces.
Freshman (2008): As a middle blocker, Hansen had an immediate impact as a freshman. She led the Big Red in total blocks (112) and blocks per set (1.20), which also ranked 38th in the country. Hansen also showed a prowess on the offensive end, ranking fourth on the team in hitting percentage (.270) and fifth on the team in total kills (133). She recorded three matches with double-digit blocks, including a career-high 12 against Harvard on October 17. The next day, she set a career high in kills against Dartmouth with 14, and she had three matches where she tallied 10 or more kills. Hansen closed out the season with three-straight games in which she had a hitting percentage over .400, a feat she accomplished eight times. She also finished the year with 61 digs, eight service aces, and six assists.
Prior to Cornell
A four-time letter winner, Hansen was her team’s captain and named team MVP. She was first-team San Diego division 2, and first-team all-league. She also played in the San Diego volleyball all-star game. Hansen earned four letters in basketball, where she was the team captain and MVP. She was also first-team all-league and first-team San Diego division 2. Hansen helped her team to win the CIF championship and was named the player of the year. She received the San Diego Hall of Champions Maureen Connelly award for the top female scholar-athlete in San Diego county as a senior, and was on the San Diego Union-Tribune first-team all-academic for volleyball and basketball. Hansen was a Girl Scout for 10 years, receiving the bronze award.

Kelly Michelle Hansen is the daughter of Bill and Joanne Hansen, and has an older sister and two brothers. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
