Junior Season - 2007

Prior to getting hurt, he had 10 runs scored and a pair driven in while playing his usual consistent defense behind the plate. He had a 3-for-3 outing with three runs scored against Southeastern University on March 22, and went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and two driven in against Miami on March 18. Jacobs also went 2-for-2 with a run against Penn State on March 16. Behind the plate, he committed just three errors in 129 chances for a .977 fielding percentage.

He appeared in 31 games, starting 27 of them, and hit .185 at the plate with three home runs and 13 RBI to go along with 14 runs scored. His main contribution, however, came defensively, as he gunned down 11-of-23 would-be base stealers on the year, and posted a .973 fielding percentage behind the plate. Jacobs’ efforts earned him the Ted Thoren Blue-Collar Team Player Award. He hit home runs in back-to-back games on the spring break trip, banging out one against Davidson on March 18 and again two days later against UNC-Greensboro. In that game against the Spartans, Jacobs went 2-for-6 with three runs scored and seven driven in. He had a pair of three-hit games, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI against Bucknell on March 4, then went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI against Columbia on April 22.

Redshirt Season - 2006
Jacobs appeared in eight games as a sophomore, picking up four hits in 10 at-bats. He started one game at DH for the Big Red on March 21 against Ohio State. He homered in his only at-bat on March 18 against Eastern Kentucky.

Freshman Season - 2005
He played in 20 games as a rookie in 2005, starting 11. Jacobs was hit by a pitch and scored a run in his collegiate debut against West Virginia on Mar. 13.
