Biography

As a freshman
Hamed hit .400 in four contests, including one start, and was flawless in three fielding chances in 2011. He had a pinch-hit single against Penn and was 1-for-2 the next day against the Quakers in his first career start.

Prior to Cornell
Hamed played in the Team One Futures game in Peoria, Ariz., and was an Under Armour preseason All-American. As a closer, he led the county in saves as a freshman and won the team's Coaches Award. He served as team captain and earned all-league honors.

Personal
Ali Ben Hamed is the son of Rida and Lisa Hamed. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
