Biography

Senior Season — 2013
Peters continued to be the Big Red's everyday second baseman and earned All-Ivy League Honorable Mention for a second consecutive season, though a nagging injury limited him to 34 games. He led the team with two triples, tied for third in hits (32) and walks (15), and fourth in average (.267). He also stole five bases in eight attempts. Peters led his class in nearly every major offensive category, finishing his four years on East Hill with 140 games, 77 runs, 25 doubles, six triples, four home runs, 49 RBIs, 66 walks and 15 stolen bases.

Junior Season — 2012
Peters excelled in his first season as the leadoff man, leading the team in runs (36) and walks (34) while establishing himself as the everyday second baseman and garnering All-Ivy League Honorable Mention. He hit his first home run of the season on April 4 at Canisius and tied a program record for hits in a game with a 5-for-5 performance three days later at Brown. ... Peters drove in four runs with a triple and two walks on March 31 against Harvard. He also hit three doubles with a pair of RBI on April 25 against Binghamton. Peters led the team with a .380 batting average in victories. His 34 walks ranked fourth in program history for a single season.

Sophomore Season — 2011
Cornell's regular second baseman batted .286 with seven doubles, two triples and a home run in 34 contests and 32 starts. He drove in 14 runs and scored 13 while drawing 14 walks, second on the Big Red. He posted six multi-hit contests, including a 3-for-5 game with a double, three RBI and two runs scored at Harvard. Peters hit his second career home run at Radford.

Freshman Season — 2010
Peters had a strong season at the plate as a freshman, batting .310 in 58 at-bats, scoring 14 runs and driving in eight while clubbing one home run. He went 2-for-2 in his first two at-bats on March 23 against Florida Atlantic, then had another 2-for-2 game on April 6 against Binghamton. The game against the Bearcats sparked a six-game hitting streak that saw Peters raise his batting average to .619, culminating with a 4-for-4 performance on April 11 at Brown, a game in which he hit his first career home run. He also went 3-for-5 on April 18 at Penn, scoring three times and driving in three. Peters finished the season with a .310 average. 

Prior Cornell
Peters was selected as the Washington Post All-Metro first team as a shortstop in 2008 and was selected as a Rivals top prospect for 2009. He was selected to the All-Dulles district baseball team as a junior and was twice named the team's most valuable player. As a senior, he earned honorable mention Washington Post All-Met honors along with the team's defensive player of the year award. Peters also played four years of basketball, earning a district championship as a junior.

Personal
Brenton Marquel Peters is the son of Bruce and Valerie Peters and has an older brother and a younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
