Frank Hager '12 has completed five seasons as a member of the coaching staff at his alma mater, including four years in his current role as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
Hager returned to Cornell in 2016 as a volunteer assistant coach under newly-appointed head coach Dan Pepicelli. He was promoted to his current role in 2017 — a season marked by a 21-17 record.
Hager returned to the program he helped lead to the Ivy League Championship during his senior season. He started all 47 games at first base for the Big Red in its championship season, leading the team with 15 doubles to push his career total to 40 doubles — which ranks second in program history. Hager went 4-for-12 (.333) with a pair of doubles and three RBIs over the three-game Ivy League Championship Series against Dartmouth. Hager was also named to the College Sports Information Directors Association’s Academic All-District 1 Baseball Team in 2012.
A 2012 graduate from the College of Arts and Sciences with a bachelor's degree in economics, Hager also earned a master of professional studies from the Johnson GraduateÂ
School of Management in 2020. He currently resides in Ithaca with his wife, Caitlin Mahoney Hager, the associate head coach for the Cornell volleyball program.
