Robby Faris

Robby Faris is entering his second season serving as an assistant coach on the Cornell baseball team.

Faris joined the Big Red after spending the 2024 season with the Houston Astros within their amateur scouting department as a development scout, where he wrote reports on players, participated in all three days of the 2024 MLB Draft, and assisted the professional and international scouting departments.

Before his time with Houston, Faris was a member of the Chicago White Sox's player development department, where he spent a season with the organization's Triple-A affiliate, Charlotte Knights, and was responsible for the team's advanced reports, shift cards, and coaching first base.

Prior to joining the coaching field, Faris worked as a production assistant for over a year at ESPN.

A four-year player in baseball at Johns Hopkins (2016-20), Faris posted a career .366 batting average with the Blue Jays, aiding the program to two Centennial Conference championships and a third-place finish at the 2019 D3 World Series.

Earning his bachelor's degree in political science and government from Johns Hopkins in 2020, Faris graduated from Columbia in 2021 with a master's degree in sports management.
