Ryan Horning

Ryan Horning is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Cornell baseball program. He previously assisted with the collegiate baseball programs at St. John Fisher College and Longwood University.

Horning, a 2004 graduate of St. Lawrence University with a degree in economics, spent the last two seasons coaching at St. John Fisher, helping guide the Cardinals to their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2007. His work with the infielders and outfielders paid off as all four infielders were named first-team all-conference and two outfielders were named second-team all-conference. In both of his seasons at St. John Fisher, the Cardinals posted a fielding percentage of better than .950.

Prior to his work at St. John Fisher, he spent the 2005 season assisting with the infielders at Longwood University in Farmville, Va. Horning also coached three years with the Syracuse 16-year-old All-Star Team, including two years as manager. Horning was also an assistant coach for the Watertown Wizards of the New York Collegiate Baseball League during the summer of 2007.
