Biography

Junior Season — 2017
Lewis was 3-2 with a 5.32 across nine appearances, including eight starts as the lone southpaw in the Cornell rotation. He led the team with 45 strikeouts over 45.2 innings. All three of his victories came in Ivy League, including a dazzling nine-shutout of eventual Lou Gehrig Division champion Penn on April 22 at Hoy Field. Lewis yielded just five hits and no walks while fanning six. In Ivy League play alone, Lewis had 28 strikeouts against just five walks. After the season, Lewis was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 28th round of the MLB draft. He then opted to sign a professional contract, finishing out the summer with the Dodgers' Rookie-level team in the Arizona League.

Sophomore Season — 2016
Lewis led all of the Big Red's qualifying pitchers with a 3.63 ERA to go along with a 2-1 record in 14 appearances. All four of his starts came in Ivy League play, with outings against Penn and Princeton lasting at least six innings. Lewis also led the Big Red with three saves, which all came in non-league play against Wofford, Bucknell and Binghamton.

Freshman Season — 2015
Lewis made eight appearances during his rookie season, turning into a long relief option by season's end. He made two consecutive appearances of throwing four innings on April 4 at Harvard and then April 11 against Penn. He averaged just under three innings per appearance during his final four outings in the long relief role.

Prior to Cornell
Lewis was named an all-league first-team selection twice at La Canada HS, helping the team to a league title during his junior season. He has a no-hitter to his credit and qualified for the school's athletic hall of fame. Lewis has also been named to the Rawlings Top Prospect List and earned Perfect Game 2014 California Region Honorable Mention. He was named the team's most valuable player during his senior season, posting a 1.15 earned run average over 55 innings and batting .355. Lewis also played in the 2013 Team USA Junior Olympic Tournament and earned a roster spot on the Southern California Connie Mack Summer 2014 All-Star Team. He was a four-year member of the California Scholarship Federation and a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
