Prior to Cornell
Stevens was a three-time letter-winner for the baseball team at Sidwell Friends School. He served a captain his senior year, in which he helped the team win the DC Classic public vs. private school championship. He was a unanimous all-conference selection in both his junior and senior seasons.

Samuel Thomas Stevens is the son of Gary and Kay Stevens, both Cornell graduates, and he has two brothers. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
