Biography

Junior Season - 2010
Wood made 10 appearances on the year, starting eight times and finishing the season with a 2-5 record and an 8.44 earned-run average. He struck out 22 batters for the year while walking just 11. Wood earned his first victory of the season in his debut, working five innings of two-run ball against Binghamton, striking out one. He got the victory in game two at Penn on April 18, working six innings and allowing two earned runs while striking out a season-best five. He took the hard-luck loss on April 25 with seven innings of two-run ball against Columbia, his longest outing of the season.

Sophomore Season - 2009
Wood appeared in 13 games for the Big Red, getting the starting nod five times. He opened the year with a start at Navy on Feb. 28, striking out four in 4.2 innings of work, allowing four runs. He posted his best start on April 8 against Binghamton, working seven innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and striking out five in his first victory of the year. Wood got his second win on April 19 at Columbia out of the bullpen, working 2.1 innings and allowing two runs. He finished the year with a 6.44 earned-run average and a 2-1 record to go along with 23 strikeouts.

Freshman Season - 2008

Wood made seven appearances as a freshman, six of those in relief. He earned his first career start on April 15 at LeMoyne, working three innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and striking out four. He worked 2.1 innings of three-hit scoreless relief on March 30, against Dartmouth, strking out one.

Before Cornell
Wood was named first-team all-state as a pitcher last season and was selected to play in the New Hampshire vs. Maine All-Star game. The most valuable player of his varsity baseball team, he also excelled on the ice, being named the New Hampshire Class L Player of the Year (large school) and first-team all-state as a goaltender in hockey. He led his hockey team to a  state championship, and his two-sport prowess earned him Bishop Guertin High School Athlete of the Year honors.

Personal
Taylor Leonard Wood is the son of Gary and Lynn Wood, and he has an older brother, Jim, who plays baseball at Trinity College. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
