At Cornell: A hard-hitting safety with great instincts, Sabo will continue to play a key role in the defensive backfield. He is expected to take over the whip safety position in 2008 after serving as a backup the last two seasons. He posted 39 tackles and a pair of pass breakups as a junior in 2007, seeing action in all 10 contests with one start. Sabo posted a career-best nine tackles in the season opening win over Bucknell and closed the season with eight stops at Penn. He notched six tackles and broke up a pass against Harvard. Sabo lettered as a sophomore after playing in 10 games, including his first career start at Harvard. He had 26 total tackles and a pair of sacks to go along with a pass breakup in his first season as a regular. A tremendous athlete who switched from cornerback to safety, Sabo had eight tackles, including seven solo stops, in the season opener at Bucknell in 2006 and had sacks in wins against Dartmouth and Penn. He played for the junior varsity as a freshman. Sabo is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

At Detroit Catholic Central: Sabo started at three different positions (quarterback, running back and safety) during his senior season at Detroit Catholic Central HS, earning first-team All-Catholic League honors. Sabo was picked to the Division 1 Academic All-State team by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association. A team captain as a senior, Sabo was an All-West second-team pick by the Detroit News and Free Press, was named to the All-Observer first team and was selected team most valuable player and best defensive back by the Catholic Central squad. He also started on the 2003 team that won the Division I state title.

Personal: Anthony David Sabo is the son of Tony and Leslie Sabo and has an older sister.
