A converted tight end, Green joined the offensive line for the spring of 2012. He did not see varsity action as a freshman in 2011.

At Phillips Andover Academy
An all-league selection at tight end and defensive end, Green led his Brentwood School team to a league title and a spot in the CIF Southern section finals in 2007. He went on for a postgraduate season playing at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. playing both ways. He hauled in 14 passes for 216 yards in seven games, including a two-point conversion, and also made 36 tackles with a sack. Green was a two-year captain of the lacrosse team, earning honorable mention All-America accolades as a senior at Brentwood School on attack.

Personal
Ben Cooper Green is the son of Bartley and Nancy Green and has an older brother and sister and a younger sister. His grandfather, Frederick Green Jr., played both football and baseball at New Mexico, while his uncle, Rick Green, was a track and field athlete at Stanford. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
