As a Senior (2016-17)
Plummer had a strong senior season for the Big Red, tallying five top-two finishes in the triple jump as well as a 22nd-place showing at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round. He earned two wins during the year at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open and the Columbia East-West Challenge. Plummer was the runner-up at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships and placed eighth at the Indoor Heps. Plummer graduated from Cornell with the fifth-best triple jump mark in program history for both indoors and outdoors.

As a Junior (2015-16)
In his third season jumping for the Big Red, Plummer proved to be a valuable asset with his success in the triple jump. Plummer won six individual titles in the event, including at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He jumped a personal record 51’10.5” at the NCAA Division I East Preliminaries to finish 12th and earn a spot at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships, where he finished 21st. Plummer also finished third at the indoor Heps.

As a Sophomore (2014-15)
After missing the indoor season and the beginning of the outdoor season due to injury, Plummer came back strong, winning the triple jump at the Upstate Challenge, his first meet back, with a jump of 49’ 0.75”.  He capped off the season with a third-place finish at Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonals with a personal-best triple jump 49’ 10”.

As a Freshman (2013-14)
Plummer was a solid contributor in the triple jump for the Big Red in his first year. He kicked off his collegiate career with an indoor best 49’ 2.5” in a 1st place finish at the Robert J. Kane Invitational. He competed at the SPIRE NCAA Indoor Invitational in his second event, taking home 13th in the triple jump. The following week he grabbed the top spot at the Deneault Memorial. In his first Indoor Heps he posted a 48’ 7.25” to place 6th. The following week he wrapped up his indoor season with an 8th place finish at the IC4A’s. He continued his development outdoors, posting an impressive 49’ 0.75” jump to bring home 6th place at the Stanford Invitational. Later in the season he marked a career best triple jump of 49’ 6.5” to grab the top spot at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational. Plummer equaled his showing from the indoor season at the Outdoor Heps, taking home 6th place. His season concluded at the IC4A’s where he took home 12th place.

Before Cornell
Plummer was an all-league selection in both football and track and field as a senior at Scarsdale HS. A running back and kick returner, he earned the team's Rich Paladino Award. In track, he earned all-county honors and placed first in the section in the long jump while also running the 100, 200 and 400 meters and competing in the triple jump and high jump. The team captain as a senior, he placed fifth in the long jump at the Emerging Elite at the New Balance outdoor national championships in 2012. Plummer also lettered three times in basketball.

Personal
Robert Christian Plummer is the son of Robert Sr. and Lisa Plummer and has three older sisters and a younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
