At Cornell: An honorable mention All-Ivy pick in 2006, McGuire enters his third year as a starter at right guard, helping anchor one of the top run-blocking offensive lines In Division I-AA. In the last two seasons, he has blocked for a Big Red team that has ranked among national leaders with 215.4 yards per game and 40 rushing touchdowns. The offensive line allowed zero sacks in four games and just one in two others in 2006. His line also helped Cornell to six 200-yard rushing efforts, matching the 2005 total. Prior to 2005, the Big Red had just five such games in the previous six years combined. McGuire started all 10 games in 2005, helping Cornell to one of the best rushing seasons in program history. Cornell ranked eighth nationally with 248.6 ypg., to go along with 26 rushing scores. McGuire helped the Big Red post two 1,000-yard rushers and five games of 280 yards or more as a team. A hard-working player who earned his spot after a tremendous spring in 2005, McGuire is expected to be one of the team leaders on offense in 2007. He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

At West Windsor-Plainsboro: McGuire was a three-year letter winner and two-way starter as a junior and senior for the West Windsor-Plainsboro HS football team. He was a first-team all-conference offensive lineman as a senior after earning second-team honors as a junior. He was also an all-area and All-Princeton Packet selection in 2002. McGuire capped off his final season by being named the Central New Jersey lineman of the year and was selected to play in the North-South all-star game. McGuire also played lacrosse, earning second-team all-area and all-division honorable mention honors.

Personal: Brian Patrick McGuire is the son of Kevin and Ann McGuire and has an older sister. His uncle, Vivian McGuire, received her MBA from Cornell in 1983.
