Biography

At Cornell
Amrhein served as the team's backup quarterback during the 2011 season, seeing action in one game. He completed his only pass attempt against Yale for three years. A strong-armed quarterback with excellent footwork, Amrhein missed the entire 2010 season due to a shoulder injury. Amrhein showed great potential in suiting up with the varsity as a rookie. He saw action in the home game against Fordham in 2009, completing 1-of-4 passes for six yards and an interception. Amrhein was listed as the backup on the team’s two-deep throughout that season.

At Milton
A two-year starter and three-time letter winner at Milton Academy, Amrhein was named to the All-Independent School League team in both his junior and senior seasons. During his senior season, he helped lead Milton to the New England Prep School Athletic Council Samson Lorden Bowl title and was named an All-New England Prep all-star. Amrhein will also play baseball at Cornell. At Milton, he earned three varsity letters as a member of the baseball team and was an All-Independent School League selection.

Personal
Joseph Christopher Amrhein Jr. is the son of Chris and Mary Amrhein and has four older sisters. Amrhein is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
