Prior to Cornell

Hatcher coached under Cornell head coach Dan Swanstrom at Ithaca College, where he held several roles on the Bombers’ staff, including wide receivers coach (2020-2022), associate head coach (2022-23), and offensive coordinator (2023). He served as Ithaca’s interim head coach for six weeks in 2022 after Swanstrom left for Penn. 

Hatcher helped the Bombers win three Liberty League titles and reach the NCAA Division III playoffs twice (2022 and 2023). His offense in 2023 averaged 352.8 yards and 25.5 points per game. Running back Jalen Leonard-Osbourne was named Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year. 

From 2012-20, Hatcher served as Misericordia University’s offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator. His quarterback in 2018 -- Brady Williams -- threw for nearly 2,000 yards with 18 touchdowns and rushed for 13 scores en route to being named MAC Offensive Player of the Year. 

Hatcher began his coaching career at Ithaca College in 2007 as a graduate assistant. He was the Bombers’ wide receivers coach/assistant quarterbacks coach from 2008-09 and offensive line coach from 2010-12. 

Hatcher played wide receiver at Rhodes College from 2003-07. He was a three-time Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference all-star.
