As a senior (2018)

• Opened the 2018 season as the squad’s starting right guard for the first eight games.
• Missed the final two contests.
• Helped Cornell rush for 1,561 yards and 13 touchdowns, the most rushing yards in a season since 2006 (1,821).
• The team allowed 18 sacks, down from 28 the previous year and the fewest by a Big Red offensive line since surrendering 17 in 2006
• Helped the Big Red rush for 155 yards and two touchdowns against the nation’s top-ranked rushing defense of Harvard (50.0 ypg.) – they had allowed just 150 yards total in their first three games.
• Cornell averaged 156.1 rushing yards per game despite playing seven of 10 opponents ranked in the top 20 nationally against the rush entering the game – doubled opponents season average entering the game on four occasions.
 

As a junior (2017)

• Started all 10 games at right guard
• Part of an offensive line that helped increase its rushing average 25.0 yards per game over last season.
• The unit allowed just 10 sacks over the final seven games while posting 163.7 rushing yards per game over that same span.
• The team’s 14 rushing touchdowns were the most by a Big Red team in a single season since 2007.
 

As a sophomore (2016)

• Did not see varsity action.
• Key member of the scout team and the junior varsity squad.
 

As a freshman (2015)

• Spent his rookie season on the scout team.
• Played junior varsity football.
 

At Barron Collier HS

• D'Amelio was a first-team all-district member on the offensive line at Barron Collier HS.
• Was a three-year varsity member and two-year starter.
• Also competed in track and field in the throws.
 

Personal

• David James D'Amelio is the son of Andrew and Manijeh D'Amelio and has a younger brother.
• He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
