Pavlov did not see varsity action in 2012 after being pressed into action at defensive end as a freshman in 2011 due to injuries. He made his collegiate debut against Colgate. An excellent prospect, he will have an opportunity to see time on the defense and on special teams in 2013.

At St. Edward HS
Pavlov was among the team's leading tackler at middle linebacker as a senior at St. Edward HS. He helped the team to a state title and a No. 2 national rank in 2010. Pavlov was selected to compete in the Cuyahoga County East-West All-Star Football Game as a senior. Pavlov totaled 85 tackles with three sacks and four tackles for loss during the regular season and ended the 15-0 season with 120 stops. In a tremendous performance in the state semifinals, Pavlov recorded 13 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble to get the team to the state final.

Personal
Don Andrew Pavlov is the son of Don and Nora Pavlov and has two younger brothers. His uncle played football at Cincinnati and his grandfather played in the 1960 Tangerine Bowl for Presbyterian University. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
