A standout on the defensive line, Chang is a game-changer as both a pass rusher and run stuffer. Possessing explosive burst off his line, he is both powerful and quick. He played in just one game as a senior in 2011 before suffering a season-ending injury. Chang lettered at defensive tackle as a junior in 2010 after starting the final 10 contests and seeing action in all 10 games. He ranked among the position leaders with 25 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Chang made five tackles in wins over both Bucknell and Princeton. Je also posted three tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, against Harvard. As a sophomore in 2009, Chang made 12 tackles, including one for a loss, and added a pass breakup on defense. He was exceptional in the win at Yale with four tackles and his lone TFL and pass breakup. Later in the season, Chang was moved to the offensive line and even started the final two games of the year at right guard. He saw action on the junior varsity as a freshman in 2008 before being injured. Chang is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

At Valley Stream Central
Chang was a three-year starter on the offensive and defensive lines at Valley Central Stream HS. A team captain as a senior, he was named the team’s Unsung Hero and was given the team’s Scholar-Athlete Award in his final season. He ended his senior season with 48 tackles and eight sacks on the defensive line. Chang was named Player of the Week by the Elmont Herald during the 2004, 2005 and 2006 seasons. He also was a letter winner in tennis and soccer.
