Biography

As a senior (2017)
• Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team.
• Elected as a team captain in the 2017 preseason.
• Piled up 253 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground, had 28 catches for 180 yards through the air and caught a two-point conversion throw.
• Ranked third on the team in receptions and rushing yards.
• Had seven carries for 74 yards and a touchdown, including a career-long 60-yard run, in the win over Brown.
• Had 23 total touches in a win over preseason Ivy favorite Harvard.
• Had nine total touches for 25 yards in the Ivy League opener at Yale.
• Gained 62 yards from scrimmage, including a season-high 41 yards on nine carries against Colgate.
• Carried twice for eight yards and caught a two-point conversion pass against Bucknell.
• Had six rushes for 25 yards and caught four passes for 38 more in the win at Princeton.
• Had 50 all-purpose yards at Dartmouth, including five catches for 36 yards.
• Ran seven times for 14 yards and caught an 11-yard pass against Columbia.

As a junior (2016)
• Named a Capital One Academic All-District first team selection.
• Finished fourth on the team in rushing with 138 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries, a healthy 4.5 yard average.
• Also caught nine passes for 83 yards.
• Posted a team-high 44 yards on eight carries and caught two passes for 14 more in the win over Yale.
• Had eight touches in the season-opening win at Bucknell, including catching two passes for 25 yards.
• Ran once for five yards and caught two passes for 23 yards in the victory at No. 25 Colgate.
• Had three carries for 10 yards and two catches for 15 more at No. 16 Harvard.
• Ran for 75 yards on 12 carries with his first career touchdown touchdown against Sacred Heart.
• Played on special teams and had a tackle in the win at Columbia.

As a sophomore (2015)
• Gellatly ranked fourth on the team in rushing with 155 yards on a healthy 6.0 yards per carry in six games.
• Earned his second varsity letter.
• Had his breakout game against Brown, carrying 12 times for 93 yards and catching five passes for 52 yards.
• Carried six times for 26 yards in the 3-0 win over Columbia.
• Carried twice for 17 yards and caught a pass against Ivy champ Penn.
• Posted two carries for 7 yards and one catch for 15 yards at Princeton.
• Made one catch for 15 yards and carried four times for 12 yards at Dartmouth.
• Saw action on special teams and at fullback at Yale.

As a freshman (2014)
• Gellatly lettered as a freshman after playing in all 10 contests, playing primarily on special teams.
• Blocked a punt against Bucknell.

At Issaquah HS
• Gellatly was a three-time first-team all-conference selection as a running back at Issaquah HS.
• He earned first-team all-league honors at running back and second-team accolades as a safety as a senior captain.
• As a junior, Gellatly earned first-team all-area accolades from the Seattle Times and was a second-team all-state running back after posting better than 1,543 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.
• He also was a first-team all-league safety. Gellatly ran for 693 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore.
• He was a four-year letter winner in both football and baseball.

• John Andrew Gellatly is the son of Robert and Susan Gellatly and has three older brothers, including Big Red All-America wide receiver Grant Gellatly ’14.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
