As a senior (2021)

• Started all 10 contests at defensive tackle, making 16 tackles with 3.0 tackles for loss, one sack, a forced fumble, an interception and a quarterback hurry.
• Credited with three tackles, a sack and a forced fumble at Harvard.
• Had an interception against Brown.
• Made two tackles with one for a loss and a quarterback hurry in the win at Penn.
• Part of a defense that limited four opponents to fewer than 100 rushing yards and ranked in the top 50 nationally in total defense.
• Posted three tackles in the season opener against No. 22 VMI in his first collegiate start.
 

As a junior (2020)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

As a sophomore (2019)

• Played in nine contests, collecting nine tackles with a tackle for loss.
• Made one tackle, a half-tackle for loss, in the season-opening win at Marist in his collegiate debut.
• Credited with two tackles at Harvard.
• Posted three tackles, including a half-tackle for loss, against Colgate.
• Made one stop in the win over Brown.
• Had one tackle in the win at No. 12 Dartmouth and another in the victory over Columbia.
 

As a freshman (2018)

• Did not see varsity action.

Prior to Cornell

• Muench was a two-year starter on the defensive line for Mission Viejo HS teams that were ranked in the top 25 nationally.
• A two-time all-league selection, he was ranked No. 72 among all players in Orange County by the OC Register.
• The team’s most valuable defensive lineman, he led the team in sacks despite missing two games due to injury.
• He closed his senior season with 44 tackles, including seven sacks, and added a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
• As a junior, he registered 26 tackles with two sacks, eight pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
• Muench was named to the Team Captain Leadership Council as a senior.
• He also competed in track and field.
 

Personal

• Jack Robert Muench is the son of Richard and Katherine Muench and has an older sister.
• His father captained the track and field team and Notre Dame in 1988.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
