As a senior (2017)
• Saw action in seven games, making 10 tackles with one pass breakup.
• Started at corner in the 2017 season opener at Delaware, making a pair of stops.
• Credited with one tackle each in the Ivy opener at Yale and the home opener against Colgate.
• Had four tackles and broke up a pass that led to the Big Red’s game-clinching interception in the win over Harvard.
• Recorded a pair of tackles in the win over Brown.

As a junior (2016)
• Started all 10 games at cornerback.
• Made 38 tackles with one for a loss, six pass breakups and an interception.
• Earned his first varsity start to kick off the 2016 season at Bucknell, registering five tackles, including on for a loss.
• Had seven tackles and a pass breakup in the Homecoming win over Yale.
• Posted five tackles in the win over Colgate.
• Had five tackles and a pass breakup in the loss at Harvard.
• Had a pass breakup and two tackles against Sacred Heart.
• Made five stops vs. Princeton.
• Had three tackles and broke up a pass against Dartmouth.
• Had his first career interception and made three tackles against Columbia.
• Recorded two tackles against Ivy champion Penn to close the season.

As a sophomore (2015)
• King spent his sophomore season on the scout team.

As a freshman (2014)
• Spent his rookie season on the scout team for the Big Red.

At Albany Academy
• A third-team all-state selection at cornerback as a senior at Albany Academy, King earned first-team all-league honors on both offense and defense in his final campaign.
• A first-team Small School All-Star by the Albany Times Union on defense as a senior, he was a second-team all-division pick as a junior despite missing portions of the season due to injury.
• He served as team captain of his track and field squad, helping his 4x400 relay team to a sectional title and a spot at state championships.
• King also played basketball.

Personal
• Jelani Akil Hoyte-King is the son of Ekow King and Marcia Hoyte-King and has an older sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
