Heon emerged as a target for All-America quarterback Jeff Mathews during his junior season, hauling in 10 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. With the graduation of its top two receivers, even more is expected of him in 2013 after earning a varsity letter in 2012. Heon had a career day in the 2012 ioeber against Fordham with two catches for 26 yards, including his first career score, a 13-yard reception. He added four catches in the win at Bucknell. In all, he played in nine contests with a pair of starts as a junior. Heon caught one pass late in the 2011 season after moving to wide receiver from safety midway through the campaign. He hauled in his first career pass with a 7-yard reception against Columbia. Heon earned significant time on the travel team as a freshman wide receiver. He played in two contests before missing most of the rest of the campaign due to injury.

At Urbana
Heon was an honorable mention all-state pick at quarterback as a senior at Urbana HS. A Baltimore Touchdown Club 2009 and 2010 Class member, he played multiple positions. He posted nine total touchdowns (five rushing, four passing) and earned honorable mention all-league accolades at wide receiver. As a junior, Heon threw for 1,861 yards and eight touchdowns as a quarterback en route to earning second-team All-Frederick Gazette honors. Besides being a four-year member of the football team, he also played four years of varsity basketball. Heon is a two-star prospect according to the ESPN.com Insiders scouting service and ranked among the nation’s top 175 high school quarterbacks.
