As a junior (2014)• Closed his first full season as a starter with 36 tackles with 7.5 tackles for a loss and three sacks in just seven games.
• Third in the Ivy League in tackles for loss per game (1.07), 10
th in Ancient Eight in sacks per game (0.43).
• Credited with seven tackles, including two for a loss and a sack, as well as a forced fumble at Harvard.
• Had seven stops, including 2.0 for a loss, against Penn.
• Registered five tackles, including 1.5 for a loss with a sack, in the loss at Colgate.
• Notched six tackles and a sack against Yale and posted seven tackles vs. Lehigh.
As a sophomore (2013)
• Fives ranked among the team leaders in tackles with 36 despite coming off the bench and missing two contests due to injury.
• Fives earned his second varsity letter, adding two tackles for loss and a sack, as well as forcing a fumble.
• He had a team-high eight tackles and his first career sack against Harvard and added eight more against Colgate.
• He made six tackles and forced a fumble at Yale and was in on seven stops against Brown.
As a freshman (2012)
• Fives earned a varsity letter in his first season after seeing action in the team's final nine games at both linebacker and on special teams in 2012.
• He was productive in his time on the field with nine tackles and a fumble recovery.
• He made eight of those tackles in the win over Yale and covered up a loose ball in the win over Monmouth.
• Fives ranked among the team's leaders with his three special teams tackles.
At Scranton Prep HS
• The county’s leading receiver and a two-time all-league linebacker, Fives was a constant for Scranton Prep HS during his three varsity seasons.
• He served as team captain as a senior and was a finalist for the Fiore Cesare Award, horing a Scranton football senior who exemplifies outstanding academic achievement, ability and attitude.
• He earned all-region accolades after hauling in 585 receiving yards at receiver and earned a selection to the PENN EAST/WEST All-Star Game.
• Fives also played two seasons of varsity basketball.
Personal
• Gerard Joseph Fives III is the son of Jerry and Sophia Fives and has two younger brothers.
• His uncle, Ted Koltis, is also a Cornell graduate.
• He is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
