Prior to Cornell

• Baker was a two-time all-district selection at DeLaSalle HS, playing both cornerback and wide receiver. 
• He was a two-year captain and earned a spot in the Minnesota Football Showcase, the senior all-star game for the Minnesota Football Coaches Association. 
• In his final two seasons, Baker had 107 receptions for 1,365 yards and 13 touchdowns.
• He posted a pair of interceptions on defense and was ranked among the state’s top 50 high school prospects.
• Baker was part of a state championship team his sophomore year and two sectional title-winning teams.
• He played varsity basketball and was part of two state championship teams.
 

Personal

• James Timothy Baker is the son of James and Alice Baker.
• His godfather, Carl Eller, played football for the Minnesota Vikings and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2004.
• He is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
