Harris returns to the defensive line for a fifth season of eligibility and will be an All-ivy League candidate. A year ago, Harris ranked second among defensive linemen with 40 tackles and four pass breakups. He notched three tackles and a pass breakup vs. Columbia and had five tackles at Dartmouth. Harris recorded six tackles and picked up a fumble and returned it for a 2-yard touchdown at eventual Ivy League champion Princeton and also tacked on four tackled in contests against Bucknell, Colgate, Brown and Harvard. Harris was off to a great start before suffering a season-ending injury after three games in 2011 before missing all of 2012. He had posted a pair of tackles, two pass breakups and a blocked kick. Harris had a tackle, blocked a pass and blocked a kick against Yale. He played in each of the team's final five games, including two starts, as a freshman defensive end in 2010. Harris earned a varsity letter after notching 14 tackles and a tackle for loss during the stretch run of the campaign. Harris posted five tackles, including one behind the line, against Dartmouth and had four stops against both Princeton and Columbia. He made his first collegiate start against the Big Green.

At St. Pius X
Harris was a first-team all-region tight end as a senior at St. Pius X Catholic HS after catching nine passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, while also making six tackles with a fumble recovery and a pass breakup defensively. The two-year letter winner on the gridiron was a two-player of the week on offense and special teams and another time on defense. Harris was a three-year letter winner in basketball at center.

Justin Christopher Harris is the son of Brian and Jeannine Harris and has a younger brother. Harris is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
