One of the team's top defensive players, Marchand earned his third career varsity letter in 2012 after starting in eight of the 10 games in which he played. He posted 24 total tackles, including 2.5 for a loss with a half-sack. Marchand also intercepted a pass. He made five tackles, including a sack and an interception, against Columbia. He had four games with at least four tackles, adding a tackle for loss against Brown. Marchand played in all 10 contests in 2011 at defensive end, posting 18 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup. Marchand posted a career-best five tackles against Colgate and notched three against both eventual Ivy champion Harvard and defending conference champ Penn. He played in eight contests at defensive end as a freshman in 2010 and earned his first collegiate start against Brown. He ended the season with nine tackles, including 3.5 for a loss, to go along with a blocked kick and a fumble recovery. Marchand scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery to go along with three tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in the win over Princeton to earn Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors. Marchand also blocked a kick against Colgate.

At Choate Rosemary Hall
As a senior at Choate Rosemary Hall School, Marchand had 48 tackles, five sacks and an interception to earn first-team all-league accolades. He also hauled in seven passes and a touchdown at tight end. He was a three-year letter winner in football and earned an invitation to play in the Governor's Cup senior all-star game pitting players from Connecticut and Rhode Island. Marchand posted 48 tackles, three sacks and a caused fumble as a senior at Bishop Hendricken HS. He also competed for the basketball and lacrosse squads at Choate and Bishop Hendricken.

Personal
Kevin Blaney Marchand is the son of Robert Marchand and Melissa Lavallee and has two older brothers and a younger sister. Marchand is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
