Biography

As a senior (2021)

• Averaged a career-best 39.4 yards per punt with seven of his kicks downed inside the 20 and seven more traveling at least 50 yards.
• Punted eight times for an average of 37.5 yards per kick in the season opener against No. 22 VMI.
• Averaged 39.0 yards on four punts at Yale and 40.8 yards on four kicks at Bucknell.
• Had a pair of punts go more than 50 yards with a 41.7 yard average at Harvard, including a career-long 56-yard punt.
• Averaged 43.5 yards on a pair of punts in the win over Colgate.
• Averaged 38.0 yards on five punts against Brown.
• Had two punts downed inside the 20 and averaged 42.5 yards on four kicks against No. 15 Princeton.
• Averaged 44.0 yards on five punts with one downed inside the 20 and two of 50 or more yards in the win at Penn.
• Punted in all 10 games.

As a junior (2020)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

As a sophomore (2019)

• Served as the team's holder in all 10 contests with one start at punter.
• Punted six times in the season opening win at Marist, averaging 32.2 yards with a long of 55 yards and with two punts downed inside the 1.
 

As a freshman (2018)

• Played in seven contests as a freshman, averaging 34.9 yards on 33 punts with a pair downed inside the 20 and eight that were fair caught.
• Made his varsity debut in the win over Harvard, averaging 37.0 yards on nine punts.
• Averaged 37.5 yards on four punts at No. 17 Colgate.
• Posted 35.0 yards per punt on four attempts at No. 17 Princeton.
• Averaged 39.5 yards on four punts with one downed inside the 20 vs. Penn.

Prior to Cornell

• Kiefer was a three-time all-state pick, including a first-teamer as a junior, while handling place-kicker and punting duties at Bridgeport HS.
• A three-time all-conference and all-county pick, he was part of two state championship teams and two more squads that reached the state semifinals.
• Kiefer was named to the West Virginia Sports Writers Association All-State First Team during his junior year and was named the Northeast Punter of the Year as a senior by Special Teams Solutions.
• He was also a Top 40-Super 7 Punter by Hammer Kicking Academy in 2017.
• Kiefer was named the Academic Athlete of the Year as a sophomore.
• Besides football, Kiefer lettered in baseball and track and field.

• Koby James Kiefer is the son of James and Kristi Kiefer and has an older brother and sister.
• His brother, Kash, played football at Maine.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
