As a senior (2021)

• Played in all 10 contests as a reserve defensive back ad on special teams with a total of 15 tackles.
• Earned a pair of tackles in his varsity debut against No. 22 VMI.
• Was credited with a career-high three tackles at Yale.
• Had one stop apiece at Bucknell, Harvard and Brown.
• Notched a pair of tackles vs. No. 15 Princeton.
• Credited with two tackles in the win at Penn.
• Posted three tackles in the season finale against Columbia.

As a junior (2020)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

As a sophomore (2019)

• Earned a spot on the travel team for the season-opening win at Marist.
• Joined the two-deep at corner for the Big Red's game against No. 12 Princeton.
• Did not see varsity action.
 

As a freshman (2018)

• Did not see varsity action.
 

Prior to Cornell

• McGowan was an all-region player as a senior captain at Notre Dame HS while playing corner, wide receiver and returning kicks.
• He helped his team to a state runner-up finish in his final year, winning the Golden Helmet Award.
• McGowan was a three-sport athlete, also playing basketball and baseball.
• He was a two-time all-district basketball player, helping the team to a pair of district titles and serving as team captain.
 

Personal

• Kolby James McGowan is the son of Kevin McGowan and Syletta Broadnax and has an older brother.
• His brother, Kyric, plays football at Northwestern.
• His cousin, Kalimba Edwards, played 10 seasons in the NFL for the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders, and another cousin, Stone Edwards, plays at Vanderbilt.
• He is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
