Matthews was a three-time first-team all-state selection at wide receiver at Sidney Central HS ... set school records for career receptions (153), receiving yards (3,083) and receiving touchdowns (42) ... compiled 990 yards on 55 catches as a senior ... named to the Elite 24 Offense squad by the Binghamton Press ... selected to compete in the Power 50 Showcase as a junior ... earned the New York State Coach's Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior ... twice elected team captain ... also lettered three times in basketball and five times in track and field ... was a two-time state qualifier in the 110 hurdles.

Liam Scott Matthews is the son of Jeff and Kimberly Matthews and has an older brother ... his father played football at SUNY Cortland ... he is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
