As a sophomore (2014)
• Earned significant time in the 2014 season opener at Colgate, catching his first career pass for three yards.
• Also saw action against Dartmouth.
• Missed eight games due to injury.

As a freshman (2013)
• Melin earned a spot on the travel team as a freshman in 2013 and saw action in two varsity contests.
• He made his first collegiate appearance against Harvard and also saw action at Monmouth while playing on special teams and as a reserve tight end.

Monte Vista HS
• Melin was a first-team all-league selection at tight end as a senior at Monte Vista HS.
• Melin caught 36 passes for 690 yards and nine touchdowns while stretching the field, averaging a healthy 16.4 yards per catch.
• He was named one of the top 25 high school players to watch prior to his senior year by the San Jose Mercury News after earning second-team all-league accolades as a junior.

Personal
• Mason James Melin is the son of Barry and Heidi Melin and has a younger sister.
• His grandfather, Mel, was a quarterback at Washington State and later played for several seasons in the Canadian Football League.
• His father was a swimmer at Williamette University.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
