Biography

At Cornell: Kearney spent his freshman season adjusting to the college game and putting in hard time in the weight room. He has a good base and will look to make a jump after seeing junior varsity duty as a rookie. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.

At Hingham: A member of the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team and the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Dream Team as a senior at Hingham HS, Kearney spearheaded a defense that posted three shutouts and surrendered seven or fewer points seven times in his senior year. His teams went 17-5 and won a pair of league titles in his final two years as a starter on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Personal: Matthew Daniel Kearney is the son of Alan and Dianne Kearney and has a younger brother and sister.
