As a senior (2018)

• Started all 10 games at linebacker, ending the year with 33 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss and a pair of pass breakups.
• Earned the start in the 2018 opener at Delaware, making one tackle.
• Made six tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, against Yale.
• Broke up a pass in the win over Sacred Heart.
• Posted a tackle and broke up a pass in the win over Harvard.
• Credited with four tackles at No. 17 Colgate.
• Had four tackles, including one for a loss, at No. 17 Princeton.
• Registered seven tackles, including one for a loss, vs. Penn.
• Posted five tackles vs. No. 23 Dartmouth. 
• Made four stops at Columbia in the season finale.

As a junior (2017)

• Played in eight contests, making a career-high 14 tackles with 1.5 for a loss.
• Made his first career start against Bucknell, registering a career-best 11 tackles and 1.5 for a loss.
• Saw special teams action in the 2017 opener at Delaware.
• Also earned field time in the Ivy opener at Yale and the home opener vs. Colgate.
• Made one stop on special teams against Harvard, Brown and Princeton. 
 

As a sophomore (2016)

• Played in all 10 contests in 2016 with five total tackles.
• Made a special teams tackle in the Big Red’s Ivy-opening win over Yale.
• Had a pair of tackles at No. 16 Harvard.
• Had one stop vs. Princeton and another vs. Dartmouth.
 

As a freshman (2015)

• Played in three contests on special teams and as a reserve linebacker.
• Saw his first varsity action at Sacred Heart and also earned field time against Dartmouth and Penn.
 

At St John's Jesuit HS

• Named all-state as a senior at St. John's Jesuit HS.
• Was ranked as a top 10 wide receiver in the state as a senior by OhioPreps/Rivals.com.
• Captured first-team all-league and second-team all-district in his final season.
• Chosen to play in the Ohio-Michigan Border Classic high school all-star game.
• Was honorable mention all-league as a junior.
• Also lettered in track and field and basketball.
 

Personal

• Maxwell Hugh McCormick is the son of Stan and Kathy McCormick and has an older and younger sister.
• His mother played college basketball at Grove City College, while his uncle Brian Brooker also played basketball.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
