Biography

At Cornell
Arguably the team's most versatile weapon, Mlady can play tailback, fullback, H-Back or tight end and excels running or catching the football or blocking. He also is a special teams demon. Mlady caught seven passes for 39 yards and a touchdown in 2011 before missing the final two games due to injury. He had seven special teams tackles in coverage and also was a lead blocker for Rashad Campbell, who set an Ivy League record for kickoff return yardage in a season. Mlady saw action in all 10 games as the team's starting fullback in 2010. He carried four times for 11 yards and caught three passes for 27 yards, but his biggest contribution came as a lead blocker for the Big Red running attack. Mlady earned his first varsity letter as a freshman in 2010, rushing for 50 yards and a touchdown while seeing game action in all 10 contests. Mlady scored a touchdown against Columbia and had a career-high 20 yards rushing on five carries at Princeton. He had a brief in-season move to linebacker in an attempt to get him on the field more, but was promptly moved back to offense to utilize his strength and speed with the football. Mlady is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

At Naperville North
As a senior and team captain at Naperville North HS, Mlady was named to the Illinois all-state team as a running back and awarded the Walter Payton Roundhouse Player of the Year. He leaves Naperville North as the school’s all-time leading rusher, with 2,569 yards, breaking the mark previously held by Chris Brown, currently a running back with the Houston Texans. He was also honored as the Naperville Sun Player of the Year and named to the all-conference and all-area teams as well as the academic all-state team. In his junior season, Mlady helped lead his squad to an Illinois Class 8A state title, rushing for 1,295 yards and 10 touchdowns on 149 carries. He also earned three letters as a member of the track team, and qualified for the state championships in both his junior and senior seasons.
