At Cornell: A tall receiver, Hawkins spent his freshman season adding strength while adjusting to the college game. He saw action on the junior varsity team in 2007. Hawkins is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.

At Menlo: Hawkins helped guide the Menlo School to a 9-2 record by catching 73 passes for 1,317 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior. He averaged 18.0 yards per catch and posted nine 100-yard receiving games en route to first-team all-league honors. Included was a 13-catch, 208-yard and three-touchdown game in a 45-42 win over Mountain View HS. As a junior, Hawkins led the county with 674 yards on 43 catches with nine going for touchdowns. He was a Mercury News honorable mention wide receiver as a senior and a San Mateo County Times first-team all-county pick. Hawkins was chosen to the Burlingame Daily News first-team. A first-team small school all-state pick by CalHiSports.com, he was named one of the state’s top 22 wide receivers by the same scouting service.

Personal: Richard Henry Hawkins is the son of Cindy and Richard Hawkins and has an older brother and sister and a younger brother.
