A team captain as a junior, Bullington started all 10 games at center in 2011. He helped anchor an offensive line that nearly cut its sack total in half over the previous year while setting school records for passing yardage and a modern day scoring record. Bullington had emerged as one of the Ivy League's top young offensive linemen as a sophomore. He came out of nowhere to earn the team's starting position at center and started all 10 games, including nine with a freshman quarterback. He played on the junior varsity as a freshman in 2009. Bullington is enrolled in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.

At Marist
A three-year varsity starter and letter-winner at tackle and guard for Marist HS, Bullington was named all-area and all-conference his senior year. He also served as a team captain his senior year, and helped Marist reach the quarterfinals of the Class 8A state playoffs. For his performance on and off the field, Bullington was named to the All-State Academic Team his senior year by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association. He also was a three-time letter-winner as a member of the varsity wrestling squad.

Robert Daniel Bullington is the son of Robert and Lynn Bullington and has two younger brothers and a younger sister.
