As a junior (2015)
• Started all 10 games at quarterback, completing 144-of-272 passes (.529) for 1,874 yards and 12 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
• Also ran for a score.
• Ranked seventh in the Ivy League in passing (187.4 ypg.) and total offense (182.4 ypg.) and fifth in pass efficiency (118.0).
• Threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another in the season finale, a 34-21 loss at Ivy champ Penn.
• Threw two touchdowns as part of a 22-of-39 passing, 279-yard day at Princeton.
• Hit 18-of-38 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns against Brown.
• Completed 18-of-31 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown against Colgate.
• Earned the start under center against Bucknell, completing 9-of-18 passes for 152 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the 2015 opener.
• Completed 20-of-30 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception at Yale.
• Connected on 9-of-16 passes for 107 yards, but was picked off a career-high three times against Harvard.
• Completed 10-of-22 passes for 196 yards at Sacred Heart despite missing two of his three starting receivers.

As a sophomore (2014)
• Saw action in five contests as a sophomore in 2014, including three starts.
Completed 81-of-140 passes for 1,093 yards and nine touchdowns. He was intercepted just three times and also scored once on the ground.
• Closed his sophomore campaign by hitting on 22-of-39 passes for a career-high 316 yards and three touchdowns against Penn while also running for a score.
• Hit on 23-of-40 passes for a career-high 315 yards and two touchdowns against defending Ivy League champion Princeton.
• Hit on 9-of-14 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns in the win at Columbia.
• Completed 7-of-14 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns at Brown in his season debut.
• Was 20-of-33 passing for 182 yards against Dartmouth in his first career start.
• Missed the team’s first five games due to injury.

As a freshman (2013)
• Somborn saw action in two contests during his freshman season under center, both Big Red wins.
• He saw significant time in the victory over Columbia, completing 3-of-3 passes for 49 yards and running two times for 16 yards.
• Somborn also earned one carry against Penn.

At McKinney HS
• Somborn was a two-time first-team all-disctrict selection at McKinney HS.
• A three-year team captain and four-year letter winner, Somborn completed 197-of-310 passes for 2,891 yards and 31 touchdowns in his final campaign.
• He completed 64 percent of his passes overall and threw for better than 300 yards five times in his 10 starts as a senior. 
• Somborn threw for 2,245 yards and completed 61 percent of his passes as a junior with 24 touchdowns and posted career totals of 6,508 passing yards and 69 scores through the air.
• He also ran for five career scores in his three years as a varsity starter.
• Somborn also played one season of basketball.

Personal
• Robert David Somborn is the son of Chuck and LeAnn Somborn and has an older sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
