McManamon spent the spring adjusting to a new position, as the stalwart on the defensive line moved to the offensive line. He served as one of the team’s top reserves on the defensive line as a junior in 2013, recording 14 total tackles and combining on a tackle for loss. McManamon saw action in all 10 games and posted a career-high seven tackles against Harvard. He had three tackles, including a tackle for loss, at Yale and made two stops vs. Colgate. McManamon was penciled in as a starter on the defensive line in 2012 and opened two of the four games in which he played befroe suffering a season-ending injury as a sophomore. He ended the year with five total tackles, including two each against Yale and Harvard. McManamon opened all 10 games at defensive tackle as a freshman in 2011, earning his first letter in the process. He recorded 19 stops, including a sack, during his rookie year. He posted a career-high four tackles and a sack in the win over Wagner and notched multiple tackles in seven contests.

At St. Edward HS
As a senior, McManamon recorded 80 tackles, including 37 for a loss and 20 sacks for St. Edward HS. He also had 25 quarterback hurries. A National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete award winner, he helped his team to an undefeated (15-0) state championship and the No. 2 ranking in the country by Rivals.com.

Personal
Shane William McManamon is the son of Jim and Kerry McManamon and has two brothers and two sisters. Rivals.com. His late brother, Jaime, was a member of the Cornell football team during the 2003 campaign before passing away. Jaime served as a posthumous team captain with his senior classmates in 2006. Shane McManamon is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
