Matt Foote is the assistant athletic trainer for football and baseball at Cornell. He also serves as a preceptor for Athletic Training Students attending Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland.
Foote has gained a diverse background prior to joining the Big Red. Previously, he returned home to Ithaca as an athletic trainer at local Cayuga Medical Center, working in the Sports Medicine Department. In his time there, he served as an assistant athletic trainer at Wells College. He also spent time down south working at Division I FCS program East Tennessee State working with the football and men’s tennis programs as both an assistant athletic trainer and graduate assistant athletic trainer.
Foote also gained experience as an athletic training intern at the United States Military Academy, working with the football team as well as spending time as an athletic training student intern with the Buffalo Bills. He is a graduate of Canisius with a degree in Athletic Training and he completed his master's in Kinesiology and Sports Studies at East Tennessee State.
