At Cornell: A second-team All-Ivy selection in 2007, Valenta returns as one of the Ivy League’s top linemen. The three-year starter at left tackle opens his senior year with 20 consecutive starts. He possesses intimidating size and strength and outstanding footwork at the position. Valenta blocked for an offense that posted 21 rushing scores despite losing leading rusher Luke Siwula in the third game of the season. Valenta started all 10 contests as a sophomore. He saw action in four games as a freshman before missing the remainder of the season with an injury. Valenta is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

At Sandburg: Valenta was selected to play in the 2005 Illinois Coaches Association Shriners All-Star Football Game after earning second-team all-state honors in his senior season at Carl Sandburg HS. He was an all-league and All-Metroland Chicago pick and was selected to the all-state academic team. Valenta was rated as a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com. He also competed in basketball and baseball.

Personal: Stephen Vincent Valenta is the son of Christine Valenta and has an older sister.
