Biography

At Cornell: One of the team’s most respected leaders, Bleymaier was elected team captain of the 2008 squad. A big-play receiver with tremendous football instincts, he will continue to play a key role in Cornell’s revamped vertical passing game. Bleymaier runs precise routes and has good straight-line speed and the team’s best set of hands, allowing him to also serve as holder on all placements. He has been a third-down specialist during his career as well. The two-year letter winner set career highs with 29 catches for 224 yards a season ago, scoring a touchdown on a fake field goal in the overtime win over Brown. He had a career night against Dartmouth, hauling in nine passes for 107 yards in a loss in Hanover, N.H., including a career-long 30-yard grab. He caught at least three passes in five games and had 16 catches for 145 yards in the team’s final three contests of the season. He has made his 40 career catches count, as 16 have gone for first downs. He averaged 26.5 yards on his two grabs as a sophomore in 2006. Bleymaier was one of the brightest surprises of the 2005 freshman class and earned immediate playing time, responding with nine catches for 109 yards. He had two catches in three different games, registering 24 yards at Colgate. Five of his catches on the season went for first downs. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.

At Bishop Kelly: Bleymaier was a first-team all-state selection as a senior at Bishop Kelly HS, helping his squad to an undefeated state championship run as a senior (12-0). A first-team all-league selection, Bleymaier finished the season with 56 receptions for 768 yards and 11 touchdowns. Bleymaier caught a touchdown pass in the state championship game. He was also an all-district selection in basketball.

Personal: Thomas Matthew Bleymaier is the son of Gene and Danell Bleymaier and has two older sisters and an older brother. His father is the athletic director at Boise State and his brother, Joe, played wide receiver at Delaware.
